PLEASE NOTE: IT TAKES EXTRA TIME FOR MAIL TO ARRIVE ON CAMPUS

If your package was shipped via the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) and you received a notice that your mail/package has been received, it means that the package has arrived at the Central Pasadena Post Office, NOT Caltech. It will arrive at Tech Express one to three days after it was received at the Central Pasadena Post Office.

The Caltech Mail Room in the lobby of Keith Spalding (southeast corner of California and Wilson) is a U.S. Post Office substation. Most of the standard postal services are available in addition to postage stamps. They handle registered, insured, and certified mail addressed to Caltech addresses. The window is open from 8:30 am until 5:00 pm, Monday – Friday.

Visiting SFP students who are working in-person at Caltech are allowed, for a fee, access to the Caltech gym facilities for the summer. Take your identification card to the Recreation Office in the Braun Gym and they will set you up.

Students being paid through the Caltech payroll system will be paid in two equal installments and will receive their payments either via direct deposit or a hardcopy check. For your banking needs, there are several national and international banks located within walking distance on Lake Ave. Additionally, Caltech has an on-campus credit union. Visiting students with a Caltech ID card and a document of their current living address (i.e. housing contract) are eligible to become members of the Caltech Credit Union. The Credit Union has branches and ATMs at both Caltech and JPL. You can deposit your check, get cash, get a check made out to another person/organization, and, for those 18 and over, apply for an ATM card. You can also keep your Credit Union membership even after you leave Caltech. To open an account, you need your Caltech ID and at least $5.25. Visit www.cefcu.org for more information. The Credit Union is located in the two-story house at 515 S. Wilson.
